- When facebook and social media become the “authority” – Perhaps people resort to looking to social media for answers to questions that ought to be easy to find at the authoritative source. Maybe it’s time to scratch your head and wonder. This facebook post, “Does anyone know who I can contact about using the river park area for get together?” garnered a slew of comments. Columbia’s Website has the information stashed in a downloadable document at the FORMS AND DOCUMENTS page. Manor Township information is located at a clearly market PARKS page at its Website. Samuel S. Lewis State Park’s Website says: “Hilltop Pavilion may be reserved up to 11 months in advance. If the Hilltop Pavilion is unreserved, it may be used for free on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact the park office for more information on planning a wedding or other event in the park. West Hempfield Township’s Website has a PARKS AND RECREATION webpage that lists all its parks information too.
- Columbia’s Website’s PARKS AND RECREATION TAB has none of that information, but it does have a bad link here: “Additional information on parks in Columbia and surrounding area,” and a tobacco free policy “that will be addressed by voluntary compliance.” Resolution 12-20 – Adopting a Tobacco-Free Public Park and Playground Policy
