As you read the newsletters from the elected “public servants” that represent us, you’ll notice the not-so-subtle crowing and the use of the word “I” when the “elected public servant” (or more likely, the minion who writes the drivel) reports to us.
For instance, in Representative Joe Pitts’ recent newsletter, you’ll see, “On Monday, the House passed the Girls Count Act. I am an original co-sponsor of this legislation … ”
Pitts is not the only one, most of the email newsletters from elected “public servants” include lots of “I” phrases. Senator Toomey is a big “I” word proponent.
NOTE: State Representative Dave Hickernell, on the other hand, doesn’t use the “I” word once in his most recent newsletter!
Would it not be a lot better to lose the “I” mentality and start thinking “we.”
What if Robert Reich‘s right?
What if the “I” actually represents the “1%.”
