Borough council president Michael Beury called the monthly council meeting to order at 7:06 pm; at the front of the room were all the councillors, except Kelly Murphy; the mayor; the solicitor; the borough finance director and Norman B. Meiskey, III, the newly contracted consultant.

In the gallery were fewer than 10 persons. The agenda is shown below.

Noteworthy from the agenda, were these topics:
- Columbia Consolidated Fire Department’s facilities use request has been curbed from three days to only July 11 for its carnival. Evidently the rides operator used in previous years has pulled back to only one night. Council approved the request “contingent upon receipt of the required Certificate of Insurance.”
- Council approved a facilities use request for the American Legion’s “Fun for Community Kids” too – also contingent on the receipt of a required Certificate of Insurance. The American Legion post appears to be confident that council will approve the event, because this announcement is posted at its facebook page: “The Columbia American Legion Post 372 is hosting our very first Community Fun Fest! We will have free raffles for anyone who signs up for new membership during this event! This is open to all members of the community, but only kids 12 and under play and win for free. We will have low cost food for sale and music provided by dbr entertainment! We hope to see you all out on Saturday June 13 from 2pm-7pm!”
- No more borough generated sewer bills since the Lancaster Area Sewer Authority (LASA) will be sending invoices. Georgianna Schreck added that bill payments for sewer bills will not be accepted at the borough hall once LASA sends statements. You can read everything you want / need to know about your sewer bills, answered by LASA here.
- Mary Wickenheiser made an appeal to the councillors encouraging them to accept the proposal advanced by the Susquehanna Gateway Heritage Area to “manage the new Columbia Crossings river trails center.” She said it would be an “honor and a privilege” to affiliate with the Susquehanna Gateway Heritage Area organization and the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA – pronounced linkswamma)
- The solicitor asked the councillors to authorize an appeal of the Fisher vs. Zoning Hearing Board of Columbia decision against the borough.” The zoning hearing board denied Club Good Times its request to allow totally nude dancing the club located on Union Street. The courts sided with Club Good Times in a recent decision but the solicitor feels the borough has solid appeal grounds.
