A reader pointed out that we goofed in reporting on an agenda item at Monday’s council meeting.
On Tuesday, Columbia news, views & reviews wrote: “No to “medicinal cannabis” – Council did not go along with the Pennsylvania State Association of Borough’s recommended approval. The councillors, in a 5-2 vote, reasoned that the regulation of this is not a local municipality prerogative.”
The reader pointed out that the issue of supporting approval of a “medicinal cannabis” recommendation from the PSAB was passed in a 4-3 vote. A review of the digital recording confirms the reader’s observation.
Columbia news, views & reviews apologizes to its readers for this mistake in reporting the votes. We sincerely appreciate the reader’s taking time to let us know about this error.
It is for issues as this that “Columbia news, views & reviews consistently and regularly encourages citizens to attend meetings so they can hear, see and question what’s being said during transactions. Reading reports or listening to second-hand information from someone who may have been at the meeting provides, at best, superficial and selective accounts of what actually transpired or was said. Columbia news, views & reviews does record all public meetings and offers copies of the meetings. If you want a copy of the audio recording, send an email to 17512@mail.com.”
