- There’s a movement afoot that wants to have government’s remove this phrase from employment applications: “Have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or a felony?” Seems to be a logical next step since so many elected “public servants” at all levels of governance have have committed felonies, misdemeanors or other breeches of law. Seems almost daily there are reports of sex crimes, rape, child molestation, felony tax evasion, possession of cocaine, wire and mail fraud, tax evasion, financial corruption and “driving under the influence.”
