Veterans Day, 2015 – an extraordinary response of free offers for veterans

Veterans_Day_2015

Wednesday, November 11, is a “public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War I (November 11) to honor US veterans and victims of all wars.”

Across the nation, an enormous collection of businesses and organizations offer special values, including free offers, to America’s veterans.

Here are links that identify some of them:

  • Lancaster County’s Recorder of Deeds office’s “Thank-A-Vet” Discount Program is a way for our community to express its gratitude and recognize the service and sacrifices made by our veterans. Participating merchants agree to honor the card by providing special discounts on purchases or services when presented with the “Thank A Vet” photo identification card. Participating merchants and sponsors will be identified by a poster or decal in the window and also listed here on our web site. The site will be updated monthly, and upon request, printed copies will also be available.CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE LATEST LIST OF PARTICIPATING MERCHANTS.

A number of Columbia area businesses are participants in the “Thank-A-Vet” Discount Program including:

  • Columbia Bait and Tackle
  • GT Discount Auto Parts

and there are a few more Lancaster County specific opportunities in a two page Veterans Day ad sponsored message in today’s LNP – Always Lancaster.
