  • If you are as we are, magazines and papers stack up for a while. Seems there is not enough time to read everything; we just read through the October issue of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services and found this worthwhile article about leadership.
  • And from an article entitled, “A Dream for My Daughter,” in the October 10 & 12 issue of Newsweek, the editor and publisher of a newspaper in a war-torn country is “committed to objective reporting – and to raising a daughter bewilderingly surrounded by the sights and sounds of her country veering to war.” Another worthwhile read.
  • Occupy Lancaster movement continues to attract many to downtown park – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era – Opinion column in York Daily Record states: “Occupiers are not just lazy losers looking for handouts from the government or the wealthy – as they’ve been portrayed by some. Members of Occupy York – as well as similar groups elsewhere (even those camped out in New York) – are mothers and fathers, homeowners, workers – blue and white collar. They fear for the economy and the middle class, and they (rightly) worry about the growing disparity between the haves and have-nots.”
  • Sad but true political cartoon from the Intelligencer Journal editorial page.
