  • The H.A.R.B meeting lasted only 30 minutes on Wednesday evening. Chairperson Terry Sears, member Elaine Beckley and  newly seated member, Jeanne Lehman, addressed a “thin agenda” and most of the time was invested in discussing verbiage of a draft letter that will be sent to entities not in compliance with HA.R.B. consent and approval of the entities’ plans. One citizen attended the meeting. Interestingly, here’s an article about a recent decision by York’s H.A.R.B. from the York Daily Record.
  • Millersville says “no” to fire tax – “”We already have one of the highest millage rates in the county (5.24 mills, Lancaster County’s third highest), and we don’t believe our citizens can afford anything in addition,” (borough council president Scott Bailey) said.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era

  • “On Oct. 14, police said, two males left the Weis on Stony Battery Road in West Hempfield Township with a shopping cart full of baby formula without paying for it.They fled after the 7:20 p.m. incident in a gray vehicle with the registration covered up, West Hempfield police reported.The next day, police were called to the Columbia Avenue Weis store in East Hempfield Township at about 9 p.m. for a report of a similar incident.” – Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era
