- POLICE LOG: MANOR TWP.: Seventeen motorists were cited with speeding in the 2700 block of Charlestown Road between 8 a.m. and noon Tuesday. Township police said the highest speed in the 35 mph zone was 58 mph. Police also cited one motorist with driving with a suspended license and took two others into custody for active warrants. - New lighting is partly installed at the Market House; this was discussed at the Wednesday evening Market Committee meeting. The lighting conversion will be completed soon and the replacement lights are more energy efficient according to Georgianna Schreck.
- Armstrong laying off 116 in W.Va. BEVERLY, W.Va. (AP) — Armstrong World Industries is laying off 116 employees at its Randolph County plant. Armstrong spokeswoman Jennifer Johnson attributes the layoffs to poor market conditions. The plant employs about 600 workers and specializes in wood flooring products.
