- Yippee … starting Thursday morning, the days become longer. Spring is on the way!
- Last night, the Planning Commission met in the Borough Hall Council chambers. Chairman Don Haines convened the meeting with three other members present. There are two vacant seats on the Commission. Interested residents of Columbia Borough who are interested in serving on the Planning Commission should submit a written letter of interest to the Borough offices; Jeff Helm; the president of the Planning Commission or to any member of the Borough Council.Three citizens attended the meeting as well as representing parties for The Cycle Den and the Columbia Water Company. Here is the agenda from the meeting. The meeting, which began at 7:00 pm, was adjourned at 8:13 pm.

- New Traffic Pattern Established for Eastbound Traffic on Route 30 Bridge over the Susquehanna River. Shortly before 4 o’clock (Monday afternoon, December 19), the “cattle chutes” were removed for eastbound Route 30 traffic on the bridge over the Susquehanna River. Eastbound traffic is now side-by-side on the eastbound side of the bridge for over the winter season. The “cattle chutes” will return either later winter or early spring next year (2012) for westbound traffic as the contractor works on the westbound side of the bridge. – PennDOT TRAVEL NOTICE
