Why would $antorum want to be pre$ident! “Santorum, 53, has sold himself in the Republican primaries as both a social conservative and a Washington outsider, stressing his family’s coal-mining background and his appeal to religious and working-class voters. His personal finances tell a different story, detailing the trajectory of a politician who grew more prosperous in the Senate and became a millionaire afterward, at times capitalizing on his Beltway connections.” – The Boston Globe

- Kicking it down the street – “York City School Board is considering a debt restructuring plan that its financial adviser said could save the district more than a million dollars next school year. In simple terms, the district would push off some old debt payments down the road, which would free up about $1 million a year over the next few years. The board could also refinance some debt to a lower interest rate, saving another $500,000 or so.” – York Dispatch
