Some want to share information; others do not

While wandering the aisles at the Market House yesterday, we spotted the brochures on the display table by the market master’s stand. Ever notice that when a business or any entity wants to tell you things, they communicate their message. Some advertise in paid media; some mail the information to you and some use signage. Some may use the Internet. Incredibly, some choose to hide their “little lights” completely.

River Towns’ brochure on the Commemorative Activities surrounding the 150th anniversary of the burning of the bridge, wants to share their information.

The Fourth Friday brochure produced by the Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce is a communication message intended to let folks know about Fourth Friday’s activities.

The Hempfield School District mails its Annual Report to residents of the district; many of which live in the 17512 zip code.

Donegal, another neighboring school district, has it’s comprehensive plan at the school’s Website. The district also points interested vistiors to the state’s Website that measures all schools.

Penn Manor, too neighbors Columbia; that school district shares information with quarterly newsletters with interested persons a this Web page.

Columbia Borough School District chooses not to share information with its shareholders in these ways, it appears. We could find no periodic report to parents at the Website.
