  1. Isn’t it amazing how much money the CEDC has received? Considering the board is made up of most of the wealthiest individuals within Columbia, I guess it should be no surprise. But wait, not sure if all are aware of the rules for the Extraordinary Give, but the board members are NOT allowed to donate to their own board. So what is my point? Well you’re probably saying to yourself that maybe the donations came from outside of Columbia. If that’s the case, why would people donate to a CEDC 10 times more than a library?

There should be an investigation of that board and all if its members. Funny also that no other EDC was on the list other than Columbia.

    • Among the rules is stated, “Participating organizations are prohibited from donating to themselves. A ‘donor’ is defined as an individual or corporation/business.” But that doesn’t prohibit family members from ‘donating.’”

So the average gift by donors to the CEDC is $564 – for the library, $33, and the Community Life Network, under $57. What’s that say?

Maybe you’re right or maybe the CEDC’s successes outweigh the successes of the other organizations?

      • Mr. Long, I beg to differ on your average numbers for the CEDC. Only because you posted them as they happened, we know that by 9am only 4 donations were made in the amount of $7,600.00. This average is $1,900.00 and I don’t know too many heavy hitters in Columbia who can afford those numbers, except the usual suspects.
