today’s news and information gleanings from here and there!

Quote for today “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” – NOTE, there is no pause before “under God.”

  • In York County, it’s tough to find people to run for local elected offices. Maybe it’s because of the way were forced to pick people. York County’s head of the Democratic Party said, “”There is some difficulty for both parties — the Republicans and Democrats — to find candidates for some of the down ballot seats.”
  • OPINION: Since “Candidates for public offices are nominated by political parties,” the candidate has got to be an insider to get real consideration. The more you “play the game” or “ante up,” the better your chances are to “get the nod.”
  • Does Pitts pander? Did you see the opinion piece by the 16 year old student writer in Sunday’s LNP – Always Lancaster [Wonder why if a high school student sees it, why can’t the voters?]
  • And a letter to the editor in today’s LNP – Always Lancaster asks, “Can’t we do better than these people?” [NOTE: Evidently not!]comments

Have you no pride in the community? You must like something about the community as you are still a resident. Ever consider volunteering for a good cause in the community, we could use your help.
