“Revitalize Columbia’s 146-year-old Market House. Prospect for more antiques and art dealers. Encourage upscale housing.” – Lancaster OnLine
“The consultants will make a public presentation of their findings 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at 200 Locust St., Columbia.”
Is the CEDC meeting open for public comment ? otherwise…. its just a press release.
That’s unclear … because it’s a “public presentation” it may be a lot like the open nature of the town hall meetings of a year or so ago. You remember those “presentations” that were passed off as “open forums?”
Presentations are “here’s what we think is right for everyone.”
Forums and town hall meetings allow everyone to explore what “might be.”
Everything starts behind closed doors in Columbia. That is how personal agendas are satisfied before it reaches the publics ears
DEFINITIONS:
“A presentation is the proffering or giving of something to someone, especially as part of a formal ceremony.”
“A town hall meeting is an American term given to an informal public meeting, function, or event derived from the traditional town meetings of New England.”
So, why doesn’t Columbia have monthly “Town Hall Meetings” ? , which are clearly an important part of American History, which we claim to be such a big part of . Meetings that are not organized or led by the politicians, but more of a free spirit meeting, not led by anyone.
