“Let’s go door-to-door and look for dogs without current licenses.”
“Why would we do that?”
“Hey, it’s a lot easier than looking for drug dealers or people who let their dogs crap everywhere.”
“Good point, and it’ll help us boost our ticket writing.”
“Uh oh.”
“What?”
“Think we’ll have to do this in the evening?”
“Doubt it, but, hey, we’d get overtime for that.”
“Great point!”
“Now let’s go catch some of those bad guys.”
“The State Dog Wardens and the Columbia Borough Police will conduct compliance checks during the Month of April. Officers will canvass homes to ensure that dogs have a current license and rabies vaccination. It is our goal to help reduce the amount of time our officers spend on stray dogs and the expense to the Borough (Approximately 50 dogs annually).” – SOURCE: Columbia Police Department facebook page
Let’s start with owner occupied properties. LOL not rentals! Go Go Go!
In April, in Columbia, PA, we will be treated to the sight of armed men stopping citizens and inquiring of them: “Ihre papiere, bitte”. If you don’t recognize the term, Google it.
I have 3 dogs. is a license between them suffice?
In Lancaster County, “All dogs three months of age or older must be licensed.”
The “lifetime dog license” is to convenient: http://web.co.lancaster.pa.us/590/Lifetime-Dog-Licenses
