  1. Interesting that Leo used the analogy of “If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.” How appropriate. In 1990 my late wife and I purchased a fixer-upper house in Columbia and we vowed to be part of the “solution.” We renovated our property at our own expense and raised our two children there until my wife’s sudden death in 2009. Two years after her death some people and an entity here kicked me in the face the likes of which I had never before experienced, while Mayor Lutz and all other Columbia “leaders” stood by silently. Silence is consent. Lessons learned the hard way are lessons I never forget, so from now on – I will instead be part of the “problem,” since experience has taught me what happens to you when you attempt to be part of the “solution” in Columbia. Upon turning age 60 I will be moving to a local 60+ community and my house will become yet another single-family rental or will be sold to a slumlord. My wife – the late Melissa Glenn – worked herself into an early grave for the betterment of Columbia, for absolutely nothing, and I can count on the fingers of one hand how many Columbia residents care about that at all.
