Chamber announces 3rd Annual “Feet in the Street” Art Show at next Friday’s Fourth Friday event

Join us for our 3rd Annual “Feet in the Street” Art Show in Columbia at Locust Street Park. On behalf of St. John’s Herr Estate a shuttle bus will be running throughout the night to all the galleries in Columbia and Wrightsville. Shuttle Bus stops will be at 208 Hellam Street – Wrightsville; 2nd and Locust Streets – Columbia, as well as 6th and Locust Streets – Columbia. Shuttle Bus will be running every 1/2 hour.

Garth Gallery and Framing Shop – (South 2nd Street) will have returning artist Julie Yontz-Rupp displaying her beautiful and alluring pieces of artwork. This show will be on display until November 20th.

Susquehanna Center for the Creative Arts (SCCA) – (200 Block of Locust Street) is exploring the interpretations of a show called “Landscape” featuring artwork from Arnold, Akre, Darling, Delaurentis, Friedly, Fuhrman, Galligan, Gallo, Giblin, Hochendoner, Lard, Leidich, Margolis, Morgan, Patierno, Richards, Ross, Spangler, Strickler, and Wissler. This show will be on display until November 20th. In addition; SCCA is co-sponsoring a movie night at the River Park in Columbia, on Saturday, September 27th. The movie is titled “The Never Ending Story” and will start at 7pm, bring a chair and a blanket!

Through the Fire – (400 Block of Locust Street), is having a show with William Chambers, “Service Station”. He mixed media is Installation / Performance Art. William poses the question What’s Missing? Another artist that will be at the opening reception is Todd Geiger. Todd will have a variety of his portraits on display.

Weavings, Ink – (Wrightsville) is welcoming a new show “Magic of the Mundane”. Opening reception: Fourth Friday, September 25 5-8pm and will carry through September 25 – November 7, 2015. Special Halloween event and reception: Fourth Friday, October 23, 5-8 pm. A magical, whimsical, surreal and sometimes scary group exhibit featuring the work of nine artists: Richard Chandler Hoff, graphite; Robert Hammer, pen and ink, Nick Pastal, paintings, Robert Oughton, pen and ink, Mariah Hertz, mixed media, George Kurzik, photographs, Dan Walczyk, photo montage, Shawn Young, digital paintings, and Phyllis Koster, fiber.

Columbia Historic Preservation Society is continuing with their Lloyd Mifflin exhibition, which runs all year long. On Saturday, September 26th join CHPS for their annual Albatwitch Festival. Festival begins at 9am and continues till 4pm on North 2nd Street, come and join in the festivities.

Bootleg Antiques is hosting music by Sonny Lee and the Bootleggers, along with moonshine samples in the café.

Historic Salem is welcoming back Charles Lee for praise and worship at 8pm on Walnut Street Columbia.

St. Paul Episcopal Church is offering a Grab n’ Go Lunch in their courtyard from 11am to 1pm. Lunch includes a meat sandwich, beverage, and bagged chips. Take out is available and orders can be called in at 717-684-8496. Seating will be available in the courtyard, parish hall will be open if raining.
