heard on the street | just cannot confirm it with public documentation (until this morning)

joint meeting

the above was added at 6:26 am April 15.; the below was published nine hours ago.

It’s a head scratcher, alright.

We’ve been hearing about an alleged joint meeting between two public entities. According to conversations, the Columbia Borough School Board and the Columbia Borough Council are supposed to be holding a joint meeting next week. Heard Monday, April 21 – but have not heard where the meeting will be.

Funny that information about that meeting is not showing at the Columbia Borough School District Website nor the Borough Website.

Here are the April meetings showing at the School District Website:

Meetings for April 2016:
Curriculum Committee – Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 6 pm
Finance & Audit Committee- Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 7 pm
Property Committee – Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 6 pm
Extracurricular Committee – Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 7 pm
Committee of the Whole Board Meeting – Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 7:00 pm (if needed)
School Board Meeting – Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 7 pm

A search of the LEGAL NOTICES at the Lancaster Online Website produced no legal notice of a meeting.

So, either the rumblings on the street are rumors or Columbia’s as murky (or murkier) as another municipality.

If the rumblings are true, why would neither entity have announced the meeting to the citizens of the community?

  1. Concerning two groups meeting: Rumors and secrets abound. Besides, why do people need to know so far in advance of a meeting of two public groups of interest? 😉

  2. So, there you have it. The announcement of the meeting a good three days in advance. This gives citiznes an entire weekend to change their plans so they will be able to make this important meeting of interest.
