Spelling bee live video canceled due to contractual obligations
We just now checked back and discovered this update at www.lancasteronline.com “UPDATE (3/15/2011): Due to contractual obligations with the Scripps-Howard National Spelling Bee, LancasterOnline will be unable to provide live streaming coverage of Friday night’s 53rd Annual Intelligencer Journal Spelling Bee from Conestoga Valley Middle School.“Scripps-Howard does not allow live coverage of its spelling bees, because it could potentially give an unfair advantage to students from other parts of the region, whose spelling bees are held at a later date. The list of words for every competition in the region is the same, a representative from Scripps-Howard said.
“Lancaster Newspapers regrets that it will not be able to provide the live coverage as planned.”
… but the good news is you can drive to Conestoga Valley Middle School and watch Columbia’s competitor, Hannah, in action. Friday, March 18, at 7 p.m. Conestoga Valley Middle School.
Who cares
You’re an idiot for saying such a thing.
Wow, is that the biggest story of the day?
I find it interesting that you visit this site and take the time to read the articles but you only have negative comments to post… “Debbie Downer”!
We do, and we are proud to have Hannah represent Columbia in this countywide competition.
Go Hannah!!!
