Elvis at the Hotel Locust

We were out-of-town when “Elvis” performed at the Hotel Locust on August 6 during the Grand Opening, but have heard that a big crowd was there. Lots of “new faces” and a good performance. The hotel houses this Elvis bust:

 

Stopped in the Hotel Locust for a light dinner and had the opportunity to talk with Pam and Jesse a bit. We spoke about the “double-standard” attack they endured last week. The enthusiasm, financial and personal investment these two have brought to the downtown retail tundra has to be applauded. Pam invited me to take a look at the latest Mike Wilson mural (below) in the renovation “work-in-progress” partner building, the Hotel Columbia. It is refreshing to see someone making improvements to the downtown landscape.
