  • E-town ag teacher winner in contest – “Mark R. Anderson, of Columbia, was recently chosen as winner of the 2011 Ideas Unlimited Award for Region VI by the National Association of Agricultural Educators. The Ideas Unlimited contest is designed to give agricultural educators an opportunity to present classroom teaching ideas and projects, which are judged on originality, practicality, adaptability to instruction and instructional value. Anderson’s contest entry consisted of a small cowboy figurine made of horseshoe nails. His project teaches a variety of basic agricultural mechanics skills, including project layout, design and measuring, torch handling skills and welding safety. An agricultural science instructor at Elizabethtown Area High School, Anderson will compete for a national award at the NAAE annual convention to be held in St. Louis in November.” (Lancaster Intelligencer Journal/New Era)
