Vendors at Marietta Market offer fresh, locally grown produce, as well as handcrafted and home-baked items and more. The market, located at Flanagan Park, is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays, beginning May 27.

“On Sunday, May 27, Marietta Market will officially open for its third season. Marietta Market meets on Sunday mornings at Flanagan Park on the corner of Pine and Front streets in Marietta from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Fresh, locally-grown produce, handcrafted and home-baked items, and meats and cheeses will be offered every week. The market offers breakfast items on Sunday mornings. Local musicians serenade customers as they browse, shop, snack, and visit, offering community members an opportunity to support local growers and local musicians.

“This year, the market welcomes Dave Warner, who will offer a variety of vegetables and heirloom produce. Also, Breakaway Farm will provide meats and cheeses. Nick DiSanto will join the market’s ranks as a coffee vendor, offering fresh hot and iced coffee as well as beans that he will grind fresh by hand while customers wait.

“Opening day at the market will feature a variety of family-friendly activities starting at 8 a.m. with a free yoga class (donations to benefit the market will be welcome). The fresh produce and products will be available beginning at 9 a.m., and live music by Wayfarer’s Experiment will begin at 10 a.m.

“The first Sunday of every month is Children’s Day at the market, with special events planned just for children. Kayla Kroh will be one of the musicians performing, and Marietta’s own Sidney Skirboll may also make an appearance or two. Marietta Market plans to offer live music every week this year. Participating musicians will include Casey Jane Walton, Susie Lee, Leo DiSanto, Lisa Thomas, J.C. Fetlock, and others. Street performers are also invited to drop in with their instruments and jam for a while. Musicians who would like to be put on the official performance schedule should email mariettamarket@gmail.com .

“Community members are encouraged to check Marietta Market’s Facebook group often, as events are updated and posted regularly. Later in the season, an Arts at Market day is scheduled for Sept. 23 and Pumpkins in the Park is planned for Oct. 28, the last day of the season.”
