Went to the Historic Columbia Market House for a little shopping. Noticed this array of postings about upcoming Saturday events at the Market House. Good things happening here!
One at a time, here is the event for this Saturday, tomorrow.
And next Saturday, July 14.
You’ve heard of the Antique Road Show?
And on the last Saturday of the month, cooking with herbs.
Anyone else wonder why this “loading and unloading” sign is in the middle of the 500 block of Locust Street by the Park?
Or exactly what one can do in the Park; here’s the list of don’t do’s.
OK, it’s clear! No dogs are allowed – we get it! Dogs don’t throw soda cups, trash and litter on the Park’s grounds, though!
Examples of some of those “yard sale signs” talked about at the recent Council “meeting of the whole.”
Saw a more promising sign; a woman carrying a sign in the Park.
Promised her we would publish her handout, too.
Dropped into Prudhomme’s for a few minutes to chat with Sharon. She’s been besieged with callers from a bunch of corners. Sharon showed me this “very touchable” ‘gator and she related some stories about some of the calls she’s been taking since the newspaper article was published. Because of the potentially sensitive nature of legal issues, we’ll leave the nature of the conversation for another time.
We agree with the sentiments of a couple of folks seated at the bar, though: “Sometimes, lawsuits just don’t make sense.”
Another discussion came up when someone asked, “What’s the difference between an atheist and an agnostic?” Mostly, we were uncertain, so, for your information, here’s the WikiPedia slant on agnosticism and atheism. Hopefully, that clears up that! If not, here’s an explanation from Ask Yahoo.
And remember, Sharon will be the “Celebrity Chef” on Saturday at the Market House’s signature special event – 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Thanks for all if this wonderful information. Apparently I should get out more often. So why all of the regulations for this park? Does this group own any other property in Columbia? If so, is it also posted with the same regs?
