The Black Olive Family Diner opened today and around noon, it began to draw a respectable crowd of mostly locals. The the interior of the restaurant located at 1506 Lancaster Avenue, Columbia, PA 17512 has undergone a complete makeover. It’s neat, clean and, frankly, inviting.
The man in the blue shirt is Fatih Sivri, the principal owner of the restaurant. A family-run operation, Fatih was joined today by his cousin, Emre Kasik as they made acquaintances with the folks who came for lunch. While today was a “soft opening,” they informed us there will be a grand opening sometime soon.

An enthusiastic, smiling team of servers and greeters welcomed Customers as they flowed through the door; by noon time the parking lot was nearly three-quarter filled with vehicles. Several of the staff may be familiar to Columbian’s who may have frequented Mike’s Diner.
There are daily special offerings in addition to a fairly extensive menu. The Sivri family has a long tradition of restaurant and food service management having operated restaurants in New Jersey and Delaware. The family operates the Salem Oak Diner in Salem, NJ.
Fatih told us the Black Olive Family Restaurant will be opening and operating as a 24-hour, seven days a week diner. He believes there’s an ample market for this in the Columbia marketplace.
Stop by soon to welcome The Black Olive Family Diner to Columbia; try something from the very broad menu … save room for dessert from the dessert case.
