- FACT & OPINION … At last night’s meeting, resident Sharon Lintner took the microphone to a respond to a cowardly, uninformed attempt [Our words.] to discredit her for speaking during a public comments forum at last month’s school board directors’ meeting. Seems an unnamed caller called LNP – Always Lancaster and alleged that she ought not be able to make comments because she is contracted as a correspondent to report certain Columbia meetings and news items. Lintner does not provide reports on school director’s meetings.
- OPINION … It is cowardly for “any accuser to not face the accused with insinuations” – though not a trial, it’s oppositional to the intent of the sixth Amendment to the Constitution.
- FACT … Superintendent Robert Hollister stated the district would be having informational meetings to learn more about “land banking.” A western Pennsylvania school district just went through that process.

- FACT & OPINION … At the recent council’s first go-round on budgeting for the next fiscal year, the police department has asked for yet another police car. Probably to populate its facebook cover photo! Seems the chief wants to turn over a Chevy Blazer with 50-some thousand miles on it to the Public Works department. The public works director and the police department also seem to feel the police department needs to have at least one Gator, too.
It is hard to believe that a building over a year old needs interior work already. Why were they not included in the original construction. It is a beautiful building,but to spend taxpayers money for improvements already needs to be explained.
