Visitors to Columbia, and everyone, can ride the trolley FREE from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day, according to the Susquehanna Heritage’s 2018 Columbia Trolley Brochure. The trolly’s route and hours are shown, but what visitors most want to know is when. With its announced 30-minute loop, they can deduce the trolley will be at Stop 1, the Columbia River Trails Center on the half-hour beginning at 11:00 am.
To find information about the Columbia Trolley Works, you can find information at these Websites:
- Columbia Borough Website: http://www.columbiapa.net/
- Susquehanna Riverlands (with a search): http://susquehannariverlands.com/?s=trolley
Curiously, we could find nothing about the Trolley Works at the Chamber of Commerce’s Website — even with a search.

This week’s inspections at Lancaster Online. Nick’s Bistro in Marietta racks up the violations; so, too, does the Tomato Pie in Lititz.
Click here to go to the state’s Website of inspections … and the listing of the violations at each location. The statewide directory lists inspections for all municipalities in York County and Lancaster County.
… except those in Columbia – Columbia persists in having its own inspection system with its own forms and inspection items – rather than the one used statewide.
