The City of Lancaster communicates with its stakeholders by sending this along to its e-blast list:
“City offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
There will be NO street sweeping on Thursday, July 4.
Lancaster Parking Authority will not be enforcing street sweeping, metered parking or residential permit parking on Thursday, July 4.
There will be no trash collection on Thursday, July 4. Penn Waste trash and recycling collections will be delayed one day – Thursday customers will be collected on Friday, July 5 and Friday customers will be collected on Saturday, July 6. Please note that monthly yard waste collection will begin on Monday, July 1, so Thursday and Friday customers should put their yard waste out alongside their other trash and recycling on their delayed collection day.
Both the Lancaster City Visitor Center and the Recycling Drop-Off Center will be closed. Both will reopen with normal hours on Friday, July 5.
