When transparency is not | The lead article in today’s LNP – Always Lancaster is about the non-transparency of many of Pennsylvania’s state-level agencies. The article says, “Fewer than 1 in 4 requests for open records were granted in full last year. It continues by stating, “While it remains unclear how many of the denials were justified under the law — many records-seekers do not appeal or take on the expense of going to court — the low rate of absolute success raises questions about government transparency and the effectiveness of Pennsylvania’s landmark open-records rewrite 10 years ago, which presumes most records are open to public inspection.”
