facebook mythology | The same myths and lies are being hoisted on facebook sites: The renters are a problem in Columbia. There are just too many renters in Columbia. Renters take up all the parking spaces. The renters are killing downtown business. Here’s a look at the comparison between a thriving Mount Joy and Columbia. Columbia has just slightly fewer renters (5%) than Mount Joy has. NOTE: Thank you, readers who have pointed out the incorrect comparison earlier posted in which Columbia County rather than Columbia Borough was compared. We apologize for the error.

  1. Maybe it is just me, but when I go to the link provided for the renter vs. Homeowners it take me to a comparison of Columbia County, not the Borough of Columbia and the Borough of Mt. Joy.
Facts will be different if a comparison is drawn be tween the Boroughs, rather than a County and a Borough.

    • Thank you, John. We really apologize for that mistake, and we appreciate your pointing it out. We’ve found the right comparison and we have added the correct comparison, Columbia Borough compared with Mount Joy.
